Colorado Court of Appeals

Appeal as of Right.

The Court of Appeals must hear any appeal brought before it.  The process of an appeal begins with notice to the court.  The Notice of Appeal must be filed within 49 days after the date on which the final order was entered by the trial court.  If a motion for post-trial relief pursuant to C.R.C.P. 59 or 60 is timely filed with the trial court, the time to file the Notice of Appeal is extended, and must be filed within 49 days of the trial court’s granting or denying of the motion for post-trial relief.

 Interlocutory Appeals.

An interlocutory appeal is an appeal to the court of appeals from a decision of the trial court in a matter that has not come to a final resolution of the case in its entirety.
